This fuel cost certainty created through hedging provides a strategic advantage in terms of higher certainty of profit margin and/or higher certainty of budgeted cost. While lower fuel cost is not guaranteed, Linwood’s programs typically strive to achieve an overall low fuel cost in the long-term while managing risk.
In continuous operation since 1997, Linwood Capital has hedged over 1.13 billion gallons of petroleum fuels and 14.8 million MMBTU of natural gas among 33 clients representing a total fuel spend of approximately $2.5 billion over 28 years.
